A man who was upset with high rates at the Ritz-Carlton in Pentagon City was arrested after he brandished two handguns at a security guard, police said.
Andrew Dziuk, 29, was charged with brandishing a firearm, reckless handling of a firearm and drunk in public, Arlington police said. The incident happened at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.
ARLnow.com first reported that Dziuk, who police say was under the influence of alcohol, asked for a room and got upset with the price. He also asked if he could be served alcohol but was told no.
When Dziuk left, he brandished the guns at the security guard. Police found two guns, both of which had their safeties off and one of which was cocked and loaded, police said.
According to the Ritz-Carlton’s website, for the rest of the month, the standard rate for a non-club level guest room with one king bed or two double beds is as much as $599 a night.
