On this day, March 4, in 1994, New Orleans police officer Ronald Williams II was killed while he was moonlighting at a restaurant when his duty partner and her nephew robbed the restaurant and shot him.
Two restaurant employees also were slain.
Antoinette Frank, 23, and Rogers LaCaze, 18, stormed into the Vietnamese restaurant and LaCaze shot Williams in the back of the neck. Williams, 25, was shot again in the head and back.
The pair then shot two workers and fled. Frank heard the call for the shooting on her police radio and returned in uniform. A worker who had been hiding during the rampage identified Frank as one of the killers.
Frank and LaCaze were found guilty of all three deaths. They are on death row.
