D.C. officer carjacked in Baltimore

A police officer from the District was carjacked in Baltimore and had his department-issued handgun taken, too. Baltimore police spokesman Anthony Gugliemi said the D.C. officer told investigators that he was on his way home late Monday night when he stopped at a traffic light in northeast Baltimore. A woman stepped front of the officer’s 2009 Dodge Magnum, and a man with a handgun ordered him out of the car. The pair got in and drove off. The Dodge was later found and an 18-year-old woman was arrested. The male carjacker remains at large, and the officer’s service handgun — which was in the car when it was stolen — was not recovered.
