5 juveniles arrested for assaulting, robbing man in Annapolis

Annapolis police Tuesday said they arrested several juveniles in connection with an assault in which a man was pelted with rocks and robbed.

Sheldon Ramon Wells, 18, of Annapolis, is charged with assault and robbery, along with other related offenses, and is being held at the Anne Arundel Detention Center in lieu of a $200,000 bond, police said.

A 12-year-old, 13-year-old and two 14-year-olds also were charged with assault and robbery, and sent to Cheltenham Juvenile Facility in Prince George’s, pending further action.

Police said they believe the five suspects approached a 34-year-old Baltimore City man walking about 1:15 a.m. Friday in the area of Town Pine Court in Annapolis.

The suspects threw rocks at the man and one of them punched the man in the face, causing him to lose consciousness, police said.

They then took the man’s wallet and cash.

The man was treated at Anne Arundel Medical Center for multiple skull fractures and other injuries, police said.

Police would not identify the victim or release the identities of the juvenile suspects.
