The death of man who died outside a D.C. nightclub in October has been ruled a homicide, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said Tuesday. Ali Ahmed Mohammed, 27, died outside DC9 from “excited delirium associated with arrhythmogenic cardiac anomalies, alcohol intoxication and physical exertion with restraint,” the office said in a statement.
Mohammed allegedly threw an object through the window of the club, and was chased by five men, including the club’s co-owner, then died after a physical altercation with them. Prosecutors dropped murder and assault charges against the men when the medical examiner’s office couldn’t immediately determine the cause and manner of death.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for D.C. said Tuesday it was still investigating the case.
