Law student made up police profiling claim
A University of Virginia law student said the incident described in an editorial he wrote alleging racial profiling by campus police was made up.
A university news release says that 25-year-old Johnathan Perkins has admitted he made up a story that U.Va. police mistreated him on March 31 by stopping, questioning and searching him.
The claims were detailed in a letter to the editor in the April 22 edition of the Virginia Law Weekly.
No charges will be filed against Perkins for making the false claim.
