Md. teen critical after being struck by car

A teenage pedestrian was critically injured when he was struck by a car in a hit-and-run incident in Montgomery County, police said.

Police found 18-year-old Malcom Jamar Polk lying near the intersection of Edwin Street and Centerhill Street in Wheaton at about 4:50 p.m. Thursday. Polk was taken to a hospital with ciritcal injuries, Montgomery County police said.

Police identified Tyree Kenneth Edge, 18, of Silver Spring as the driver of the blue Nissan Sentra that struck Polk, but have not charged him pending an investigation.
