Charges dropped against P.G. court clerk Prince George’s County prosecutors aren’t pursuing charges against Marilynn Bland, the county’s Circuit Court clerk and a former councilwoman.
Authorities said there wasn’t enough evidence to support allegations made by County Council employee W. Randy Short that Bland assaulted him during a meeting in November.
Short had accused Bland of screaming and swearing at him for starting a meeting without her.
Parks officer finds missing MoCo couple
A Maryland-National Capital Park Police officer found a critically missing elderly couple in Silver Spring, after recognizing their car from a bulletin.
The couple had been reported missing from their home for about four hours and belonged to the Montgomery County Project Lifesaver, which provides a traceable bracelet for individuals who have a propensity to wander due to diminished capacity.
A police helicopter was honing in on the signal as Officer Nancy Jones pulled the couple over at about 5 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
2 charged in Silver Spring home invasion
Montgomery County police have arrested two men and are looking for a third in an armed home invasion and robbery in Silver Spring.
Police said that a 22-year-old man opened the door to the home on the 3900 block of Tynewick Drive when he heard someone knocking at about 10 p.m. Monday. The three suspects, one of whom had a handgun, forced the man and two women, ages 22 and 61, into the basement and took personal items from them, police said.
A 19-year-old woman escaped from the home and called police.
Officers arrested Moise Louis, 21, of Silver Spring, and Nathaniel J. Johnson, 22, of Bladensburg, as they tried to flee.
