The Humane Society and Prince George’s County officials are searching for the person or persons who set a chihuahua on fire in Fort Washington.
On June 20, Prince George’s animal control officers responded to reports of an animal on fire on Proxmire Drive in Fort Washington from local police. When they arrived at the scene, the dog, an “older male chihuahua,” was already dead.
The Humane Society is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information on the incident.
“Setting an animal on fire is a truly heinous act — and a serious crime in Maryland,” Tami Santelli, the Maryland senior state director for the Humane Society of the United States said in a statement. “We hope our reward will help find the person who committed this horrible act.”
