A Montgomery County elementary school teacher has been charged with possession of heroin after a traffic stop in Silver Spring.
Police said 25-year-old Rebecca Amick, a special education teacher at Woodlin Elementary School, was one of three people in a car that was stopped for speeding at the intersection of Georgia and Thayer avenues on Tuesday night. Officers searched the car and the occupants and found nine small bags of heroin on Amick, police said.
Also arrested was Faisal Abdullah, 25. Police said Abdulla had four small bags of heroin and was wanted on two counts of prescription fraud.
