A man was convicted of manslaughter and other charges for a drunken driving crash in Alexandria that killed an 8-year-old boy, according to media reports.
Victor Aldana, 22, was convicted Wednesday and is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 2.
On Jan. 15, Aldana drove off Duke Street near the Interstate 395 overpass and hit two pedestrians: 8-year-old Brian Hernandez-Chavez and his mother. Hernandez-Chavez was killed and his mother was injured.
