Police are searching for a man who robbed a bank at gunpoint in Frederick. The suspect robbed the Comstar Federal Credit Union located at 193 Thomas Johnson Drive at about 6 p.m. last Thursday.
Police said the man entered the bank pointing a handgun and obtained an undisclosed amount of money from several tellers. The suspect then fled the building by foot in an unknown direction.
No one was harmed in the incident.
Officers couldn’t locate the suspect — even after using search dogs to follow the man’s track.
The suspect was alone and is described as a black man about 6-feet-3-inches tall with a thin build, long face and deep voice. He was last seen wearing dark clothing with a hood over his head and had a mask partially covering his face.
Police obtained photos of the suspect from a video surveillance camera inside the bank.
The Frederick Police Department is investigating a string of serial robberies in the area, however they say this incident is not considered related.
