Man found dead after Fairfax County fire identified

The man whose body was found after an outside fire in Fairfax County on Sunday has been identified as 24-year-old Handel Victor Stephens-Dowd, of Fairfax, officials said.

Firefighters were called to the incident shortly after noon on Sunday and found grass, brush and several trees on fire near the east bound ramp of Lee-Jackson Highway to the Fairfax County Parkway. Firefighters were quickly able to bring the flames under control and then found Stephens-Dowd’s body, according to the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department.
