Montgomery County police said they have made an arrest in a 26-year-old rape case after DNA matched a Michigan man to the crime. Hubert Allan Marlin was arrested Sunday on rape and assault with intent to maim charges.
Police said the 53-year-old beat and raped a woman on Oct. 13, 1984, while she was walking home from her job at Montgomery Mall.
The case was reopened in April 2010, and evidence from the crime scene underwent a forensic examination, which revealed a DNA profile linking Marlin to the crime, authorities said.
