LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police have arrested a 21-year-old construction worker on suspicion of using a hammer to bludgeon a co-worker to death at a building site.
City News Service reports Christian Valdez was taken into custody Thursday at his home, a couple of blocks from the crime scene in the Silver Lake area.
Investigators say Valdez beat 20-year-old Luis Sanchez in the face with a hammer before fleeing.
Sanchez was taken to a hospital, where he died an hour later.
It was unclear what sparked the attack.
