Teen charged in Metro Center slashing

A 15-year-old is in custody, accused of cutting another teen on the Metro system Sunday evening.

The incident happened at the Metro Center station just before 6 p.m. in a fight between the two acquaintances, said Metro spokesman Dan Stessel. It initially was reported as a stabbing, he said, but was later downgraded. A 14-year-old was cut on his chest.

The 15-year-old was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, carrying a dangerous weapon and possession of a prohibited weapon, Stessel said. The teen was placed into custody with D.C. Youth Services.
