Prince William County police are looking for help in identifying a suspect in an assault.
Tuesday at about 8 p.m., police responded to the 8100 block of Seymour Road in Manassas. A 21-year-old woman told police that she was walking home on a nearby footpath when she was struck from behind, knocked to the ground and assaulted by a man. The woman was able to fight off the man, and he ran away, police said.
The woman was treated for non-life threatening injuries at a hospital, police said.
The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s, 6 feet, 180 pounds, with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and black tennis shoes.
Detectives also have received information about an indecent exposure incident that occurred in the same area on Monday afternoon with a similar description of a suspect, police said.
Anyone with information can call 703-670-3700 or 1-866-411-TIPS. Callers could receive a cash reward of up to $1,000.
