A Woodbridge man died after a single-vehicle crash in Fairfax County, police said.
About 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, 24-year-old Paul Wickwire was driving a 1998 Ford Explorer on Leesville Boulevard near Hinton Street in the Springfield area. Fairfax County police said they believe Wickwire lost control of the sport-utility vehicle, and it ran off the left side of the road, struck a fire hydrant and rolled over.
Wickwire was ejected from the SUV and died at the scene. Detectives believe speed may have been a factor in the crash, and they are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
