Police: Man hits same bank twice in week

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police and FBI agents are searching for a man who they say robbed a Germantown bank twice in the same week. Police said the man robbed the Bank of America at 19707 Germantown Road for the second time around 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

The suspect drove up to the teller window, demanded money and obtained an undisclosed amount of cash from the teller. No weapon was displayed, and no one was injured.

Police described the suspect as a white male with a mustache. He was last seen wearing a black ski mask and sunglasses to conceal his face. He was driving a beige or tan Toyota four-door sedan.

The first incident happened at the same Bank of America on Dec. 13 at 6:51 p.m.

The suspect in that robbery drove up to the teller and obtained an undisclosed amount of money in a similar fashion. No weapon was displayed, and no one was injured.

During that robbery, a bag and sunglasses covered the suspect’s face. Police said his height and age were unknown, but he was described as having a heavy build.

The vehicle matches the same description of the vehicle used in the robbery Friday.

Police have not released any surveillance images from either robbery.
