Man gets life in prison in fatal stabbing A man was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for stabbing a 53-year-old woman to death.

Troy Nash was sentenced Thursday in Prince George’s County Circuit Court.

According to Prince George’s prosecutors, he stabbed Vanessa Riddick 65 times, mainly in her face and neck. Riddick was found slain in her Largo apartment in August 2007.

In September 2009, investigators linked Nash to DNA found on a pocket knife left at the crime, prosecutors said.

A jury convicted him of first-degree murder in September.

Driver charged in fatal crash

A dump truck driver who struck a Loudoun County man’s sport utility vehicle head-on in a fatal Manassas collision has been charged with reckless driving.

Prince William County police said 65-year-old James E. Dibble, of Alexandria, turned himself in on Wednesday.

Police said Dibble was driving south on Lee Highway near Sudley Road when he crossed into the northbound lane and hit a Ford F-350, moved back into the southbound lane, then swerved into the northbound lane again, hitting a Honda CRV head-on.

The Honda driver, identified as 40-year-old Daniel Tulk, of South Riding, was killed. None of the four Ford occupants were injured. Dibble was also unharmed.

The crash happened at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Moped rider killed in Temple Hills

Prince George’s County police are investigating a fatal accident involving a moped in Temple Hills.

At around 6:40 a.m. Thursday, a moped driven by a 55-year-old man was struck by a Chevrolet Cruise in the 7300 block of Temple Hill Road, said Cpl. Larry Johnson. The driver of the sedan stayed on the scene.

The moped rider was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police have not released his identity.
