A Montgomery County Public Schools bus aide was arrested and charged with sexually abusing two children over the last three years, authorities said
Franklin Dalton Smith, 61, of Hyattsville, was arrested after an 11-year-old female student with Down syndrome reported that she had been molested on the bus, police said. A second student witnessed the victim being inappropriately touched on the way to Glen Haven Elementary School in Silver Spring, police said.
Detectives then learned of a previous allegation from 2005. A student going to Paint Branch High School in Burtonsville said that the bus aide made suggestive remarks, repeatedly massaged her head and shoulders and eventually touched her in a sexual manner.
