Police are investigating theft of copper piping from Montgomery County churches, and investigators are asking the public to help identify a suspect.

Police said eight buildings were targeted last month. Police have images from a surveillance video at the United Church of Christ in Bethesda. The video can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLuzoUGtiXs. Police believe the suspect is selling the copper to scrap yards for thousands of dollars.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5-feet-11, 185 pounds, with brown or black hair. He was wearing a blue T-shirt, blue jeans, and black boots.

Anyone with information can call police at 301-657-0112.
