Three-alarm fire at car dealership
Fire crews battled a three-alarm blaze Sunday at a Suitland car dealership.
The fire broke out at about 11:30 a.m. at a Pontiac dealership at 5001 Auth Way, according to Prince George’s County Fire and Emergency Medical Services.
Fire department spokesman Mark Brady said it took firefighters about an hour to extinguish the blaze. When firefighters arrived, three cars and an SUV inside the dealership were on fire. Other vehicles were damaged as the blaze spread, Brady said.
No injuries were reported.
The facility’s roof sustained heavy damage and was declared unsafe. Brady said the cause of the fire will likely remain unknown until later this week because part of the roof will need to be removed before authorities can investigate further.
