Military police officer pleads guilty in Craigslist robberies An Air Force staff sergeant has pleaded guilty to robbing people at gunpoint after posting ads on Craigslist and then meeting up with the prospective “customers” in Arlington and Fairfax counties.

Deshawn Derr, 25, admitted that he and another man would pretend on Craigslist to be selling iPhones, tell prospective buyers to bring cash to a meeting and then rob the customers at gunpoint.

At the time, Derr was assigned to Andrews Air Force Base as a military police officer.

The case against 41-year-old David Ramsey, the other man charged, is still pending.

Manassas crash victim identified

Police have identified the man killed in Manassas as 40-year-old Daniel Tulk.

Prince William County police said Tulk, of South Riding, died when his Honda CRV was struck head-on by a dump truck on Lee Highway near Sudley Road at about 2:30 p.m.

Police said the dump truck driver, a 65-year-old Alexandria man, was driving south on Lee Highway crossed into the northbound lane and hit a Ford F-350, moved back into the southbound lane, then swerved into the northbound lane again, hitting Tulk head-on.

No one else was hurt.

Police said the crash is still under investigation and no charges have been filed.
