Silver Spring teen killed at large Halloween party
A Silver Spring teenager was killed during a double shooting at a large Halloween Party, Howard County police said. Police say Aaron Thomas Brice, 19, was found dead at a party in Clarksville attended by more than 100 people early Sunday. Nathaniel Quick, 20, of Columbia was hospitalized and listed Sunday in critical condition. Police say Quick is expected to survive, but may be paralyzed. Two other men, ages 20 and 21, were also hospitalized with injuries other than gunshot wounds. The incident is under investigation.
Man gets 17 years for forcing girls into sex
A New York man who enslaved young girls, keeping them in Maryland hotel rooms and forcing them to have sex for money was sentenced to more than 17 years in prison. Jermaine Moore, 37, of Brooklyn, trapped three girls, ages 17, 16 and 15, and made them earn $500 a night. If they tried to leave, Moore would beat them, authorities said. The victims suffered broken noses, badly bruised faces and burns, prosecutors said. Moore provided them with the food he wanted them to eat. If they did not like what he provided, they simply did not eat.
Police probe homicide of man found inside vehicle
Prince George’s County police said a man found in a vehicle on the side of the road was shot to death. At about 3:40 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 13000 block of Larchdale Road in Laurel to check on a man inside the vehicle and found Emanuel William Palmer, 28, of Southeast Washington, suffering from a gunshot wound. Police are still investigating.
Alexandria teen stabbed, three others attacked
Prince George’s County police say an Alexandria teenager was stabbed and three male friends were cut while leaving a Halloween party in Clinton. The four were attacked by two men about 1:30 a.m. Sunday. None of the injuries were life-threatening. Police did not know what preceded the stabbing of the 18-year-old woman.
