More than 180 firefighters and 60 pieces of equipment were needed to battle a three-alarm fire that destroyed two houses and caused significant damage to another in Northeast Washington.
Nobody was inside the houses and there were no injuries, said D.C. fire spokesman Alan Etter.
Around 10:30 a.m. Thursday, firefighters responded to a fire at 2208 Douglas St. just off Rhode Island Avenue and found all three houses on fire, Etter said.
It took about an hour and a half to knock down the fire.
