Baltimore man killed in Anne Arundel shooting

Glen Burnie man arrested in county’s first homicide of the year

Anne Arundel police arrested a Glen Burnie man in the fatal shooting of a Baltimore man who was gunned down Saturday in the county’s first homicide of the year.

Ricco Gough, 28, of Silver Leaf Court, was arrested Monday in Baltimore and charged with first-degree murder in the slaying of Nathaniel Wallace, 37, outside Dietrich’s Tavern on the 7300 block of Furnace Branch Road in Glen Burnie, police said Tuesday.

Police would not release details of how Gough was identified as a suspect, citing the ongoing investigation.

Witnesses had told police that bouncers threw Wallace and Gough out of the bar for fighting, but the skirmish continued into the parking lot.

Police arrived minutes after the shooting and found Wallace lying dead in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to his upper body.

Gough fled the scene, police said, but witnesses provided a description.

Wallace, known to his friends as “Stinker,” was the first person slain in Anne Arundel this year. Police still are investigating three unsolved slayings of the county’s 10 homicides in 2008.

Police reports indicate officers responded to the same bar this past month when a man was robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot.

Wallace had moved between the Baltimore area and Anne Arundel in the past decade, according to court records.

His most recent address could not be obtained, and his family could not be reached for comment.

Although Gough was arrested, police said the investigation remains open, and anyone with information should contact Anne Arundel detectives at 410-222-3463 or 410-222-8610.
