Police continue search for BW Parkway attacker

 

Maryland State Police are continuing to search for the gunman who cracked the windshield of a speed camera vehicle with a hammer on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway Wednesday.

Police on Thursday updated their description of the suspect, describing him as a white man who is about 6 feet tall and 200 to 220 pounds. He is in his 50s or 60s, was wearing glasses and possibly has a pot belly. He was wearing a red-and-blue plaid shirt and bluejeans. He was carrying a shotgun.

The man is believed to have walked through nearby woods to a parking lot on the 1300 block of Concourse Road in Linthicum, entered a vehicle and left the area, police said.

Anyone who was on the parkway or in that area between 11 a.m. and noon Wednesday is asked to contact the state police’s Glen Burnie Barrack at 410-761-5130.

Woman killed in P.G. crash

A woman was killed early Thursday when she was hit by a car in Landover.

Prince George’s County police said the accident happened shortly before 5:30 a.m. on the 7600 block of Landover Road.

The woman was unconscious in the road when officers arrived. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene. The circumstances of the crash are still under investigation. The woman’s name was not released.

Va. debuts anti-human-trafficking site

Virginia has debuted a new website aimed at spreading information about and curbing human-trafficking cases.

The website — dcjs.virginia.gov/victims/humantrafficking — is run by the Department of Criminal Justice Services and lists human-trafficking laws, research, resources for lawyers and law enforcement, contact information for nongovernmental organizations and phone numbers to report suspected cases.
