Washington’s Humane Society is looking for an individual involved in the death of a 6-month-old puppy.
The brindle and white puppy, known as King Tut, was sleeping behind the Circle Seven Express store on Mount Olivet Road NE on Friday when someone dropped a large block of cement on his head. King Tut died from his injuries, and the Humane Society is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction for the person who killed him.
The suspect is a light-skinned black man of medium build in his late 20s, officials said.
“This is truly one of the most horrific acts of animal cruelty I have seen in my 20-year career,” Scott Giacoppo, the Humane Society’s chief programs officer and vice president for external affairs, said in a statement.
Anyone with information about the incident should contact Officer D’Eramo at [email protected] or 202-723-5730, ext. 131. Callers can remain anonymous.
