Prince George’s County Police have reunited a dog with his owners after the owners’ car was stolen with the dog inside.
The owners called the Prince George’s County Police at about 10 a.m. Friday because they had been contacted by a “Good Samaritan” who said he had found their dog, Cody, police said. Detectives accompanied the owners to meet with the caller at a neutral location and retrieve Cody.
Cody’s owner left him in their car on the 6500 block of Sheriff Road on December 12. When he returned, the car had been stolen with the dog still inside. Though the vehicle was later recovered, the dog was not found at the time.
The investigation into the car theft is still ongoing.
