BAYPORT, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say four men beat a man at his Long Island home during a burglary in which they removed cash and jewelry.
It happened at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday at a home on Bayview Avenue in Bayport.
Suffolk County police say after the burglars left, the homeowner followed them and saw them get inside a waiting car.
He called police and gave them a description of the car. The suspects were arrested a short time later.
The suspects range in age from 17 to 20. They face first-degree burglary charges when they are arraigned Wednesday.
The homeowner was treated at a hospital for face and body injuries.
