Several law enforcement agencies are investigating four bank robberies in Virginia that appear to be similar. Winchester Police said a man robbed the Bank of Clarke County at 200 North Loudoun St. on Nov. 4. The suspect mentioned a weapon but did not show it to the bank tellers. The man fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
Loudoun County Sheriff’s officials said a robbery occurred at the Bank of America at 45900 Regal Plaza in Sterling on Oct. 6. The man entered the bank and displayed a weapon. The bank teller surrendered an undisclosed amount of money.
On Oct. 21, a comparable incident occurred in Fairfax County at the Presidential Bank at 1600 Reston Parkway in Reston. The robber implied he had a weapon.
The next robbery also occurred in Fairfax, this time Oct. 26 at the Capital One Bank at 9800 Georgetown Pike in Great Falls. The man pointed a gun at the tellers and obtained an undisclosed amount of money.
No injuries have been reported in any of these incidents.
Witnesses in all incidents described the suspect as a white male who is 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs between 150 and 180 pounds. The suspect looked to be in his late 20s. Police said the video surveillance from these four incidents looks similar.
