Man turns self in after mob attack

A fifth suspect in a mob attack in Sterling has turned himself in, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said. Authorities said 19-year-old Fredy F. Alfaro, of Reston, turned himself over to authorities in connection with an assault and stabbing in the 46900 block of Community Plaza. A 17-year-old male from Sterling and a 20-year-old Ashburn man were attacked by a group of people when they were walking in the area at about 11:40 p.m. Friday. The 17-year-old was stabbed.

Four others have been arrested in the case. They are Alexander Garcia, 25; Matias C. Garcia, 20; Manuel O. Rivera, 26; and Christopher A. Bryant, 21.

All have been charged with assault by mob and simple assault by mob.
