27 arrested during celebrations of Terps’ victory over Duke
Prince George’s County police arrested 27 people on a variety of charges late Wednesday night when about 1,500 people poured into College Park streets celebrating the University of Maryland’s victory over Duke.
The crowd grew rambunctious with some members throwing snowballs at officers, police said. At one point, a tree was set on fire. Officers in riot gear responded and cleared the streets.
