D.C. man admits to killing wife in front of children
A District man pleaded guilty to first-degree murder for killing his wife in front of their three children.

As part of the plead deal, Claude Kinney, 48, agreed to a sentence of 30 years in prison.
Federal prosecutors in D.C. said Kinney’s estranged wife, Alecia Wheeler, applied for a restraining order in the District the day before the killing in September.
Kinney followed Wheeler while she walked her children home from school, then stabbed her in the head, neck and chest.
Michael Jackson publicist dodges jail time over taxes
The public relations specialist for the late pop star Michael Jackson was ordered by a federal judge in D.C. to pay more than $200,000 in restitution and perform 200 hours of community service for failing to file her own taxes. Raymone Bain, of D.C., pleaded guilty in June to two counts of failure to file federal income tax returns and D.C. income tax returns. Bain became the personal general manager for Jackson and president of the Michael Jackson Co. in 2006. She was paid $30,000 a month, but failed to file taxes owed from 2006 to 2008. She has yet to file returns for 2009 or 2010, prosecutors said.
Silver Spring man admits to child porn
A 47-year-old Silver Spring man pleaded guilty Tuesday to transporting child pornography and destruction of records in a federal investigation. Terry Lee Nolley admitted in federal court in Greenbelt that he and others operated a Web-based bulletin board dedicated to trading images of child porn. Federal agents seized the site, called Country Lounge, and told Nolley not to remove anything from his home, prosecutors for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Maryland said. Nolley admitted to throwing the hard drives into the woods, documents said. Nolley faces between five and 20 years in prison at his sentencing, scheduled for Jan. 2
