The funeral for a Maryland state trooper who was killed while on patrol on Interstate 95 has been scheduled for Friday. Police say 39-year-old Trooper First Class Shaft S. Hunter may have been pursuing a speeding motorcycle when his vehicle hit a tractor trailer that was parked on the shoulder in Howard County early Saturday.
A viewing is planned for 4 p.m. Thursday at the Vaughn C. Greene Funeral Home in Randallstown. The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Friday at New Antioch Baptist Church of Randallstown. He his survived by his wife and six children.
Gov. Martin O’Malley has ordered the Maryland flag be flown at half-staff in Hunter’s honor until sunset on the day of the funeral.
