A University of Maryland student awoke to find an intruder in her dorm room touching her thigh over the weekend.
Campus police said the female student found the man in her Cumberland Hall room at about 3:50 a.m. Sunday.
The student’s roommate confronted the man, who said he entered the room by mistake and fled. Police said the man apparently entered the room through an unlocked door. Other residents on the floor reported that they heard someone trying to open their doorknobs.
The man was described as black, wearing blue jeans, a gray hooded sweatshirt and a gray baseball hat.
Anyone who has information about the incident can call police at 30-405-3555 or email [email protected].
In a separate incident over the weekend, a Georgetown University student was sexually assaulted while walking outside.
