Aerospace company worker charged

An aerospace company employee was arrested for allegedly stealing airplane and air drone parts and selling them on the Internet, Manassas police said.

Shane Twomey, 32, of Front Royal, was charged Monday with one count of embezzlement.

Twomey had worked at Aurora Flight Sciences for less than a year and had taken small pieces of airplanes and air drones with an estimated value of about $25,000, Manassas police spokesman Sgt. Ed Rivera said.

Two indicted in deadly crashes

Two Maryland women have been indicted in separate fatal traffic accidents, Charles County officials said.

Rachel Buckler, 21, was charged in a hit-and-run accident that killed Thomas Roepcke, 47, of Port Tobacco, in September 2011. A passerby found the victim and called police. Roepcke was taken to a hospital and later died.

Police released a description of the vehicle involved and Buckler turned herself in about a week later.

Jacqline Mack, 21, of Waldorf, was charged with vehicular manslaughter in the November 2011 death of a Andre Shorts, 31, of Clinton. Police said Mack had been drinking and was speeding before the crash.
