A 17-year-old California runaway was held against her will for three months by a pimp who sold her body for sex in hotels in Rockville, Woodbridge and Long Island, N.Y., court documents indicate.
The girl fled Marc Brickhouse on Feb. 21, running from a Woodbridge Residence Inn to a Babies “R” Us at 14173 Crossing Place, where she was rescued by Prince William County police, authorities said. Brickhouse, 32, and 21-year-old Julie McKenna were charged with transporting a minor to engage in prostitution and they were arrested in Laurel on Feb. 26. Wednesday, they were ordered held without bail.
The girl reportedly told authorities that Brickhouse had forced her to have sex with more than 60 men and he beat her when she asked to go home, an FBI agent’s affidavit filed in Alexandria’s federal court said.
The teen ran away in December because “she felt that her parents did not love her,” the affidavit said. She contacted McKenna, a friend of a friend. McKenna told the girl that if she chose to join her in Rockville, she would have to become a prostitute.
Authorities say the teen agreed, and McKenna flew to California and brought her across the country. When they arrived by bus in Rockville in late December, they were met by Brickhouse. He took them to a Rockville Red Roof Inn, where over several days, Brickhouse had sex with her and had her watch porn to learn how to be a prostitute, the girl told authorities. He posted an advertisement selling the teen on Craigslist and she received her first client on Jan. 1.
In mid-January, the three moved to a Quality Inn in Woodbridge, the affidavit said. They later traveled to Long Island, where the teen was pimped out at another Red Roof Inn, and then went to the Woodbridge Residence Inn on Feb. 20.
The next day, McKenna was arguing with the girl because Brickhouse allegedly had sex with the teen without using a condom, authorities said. During the argument, Brickhouse slapped the girl and she ran into the bathroom. When she heard Brickhouse and McKenna having sex, she ran from the hotel room. She was barefoot and wearing pajamas when she arrived at the Babies “R” Us.
