Police: Crash victim had stab wounds
Police are investigating the death of a man who suffered multiple stab wounds before crashing his car in Glen Burnie.
The man, 39-year-old Lamonte Sherman, of Aberdeen, drove over the curb and struck a tree near Americana Circle and Ritchie Highway, then swerved into an ice cream shop parking lot and hit two people, according to Anne Arundel County police. The crash happened at about 10:20 p.m. Sunday.
Police said Sherman had stab wounds inconsistent with the crash. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.
The two people struck in the parking lot were treated for minor injuries.
Man slain in D.C.
Police are investigating a homicide in Northwest D.C.
Officers responded to a report of a man wounded in the road on the 5400 block of Georgia Avenue NW at about 3:25 a.m. Sunday, D.C. police said.
The man, identified as 25-year-old Garrett White, of the District, was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Police said White suffered “a laceration” but gave no other information about how he died.
Police ID driver killed in crash
A man was killed and two others were critically injured when two cars collided in Loudoun County.
Virginia State Police said 36-year-old Satish Mallavaram, of Ashburn, was killed when his Toyota Yaris swerved into oncoming traffic and struck a Toyota 4-Runner SUV head-on on Route 9 near Route 287. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The two people in the 4-Runner, 48-year-old Anna Castro and 39-year-old Jose Castro-Rivas, both of Vienna, were hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
According to a witness, Mallavaram was using a handheld electronic device just before the crash occurred at about 6:40 p.m. Sunday, police said.
