Second teen charged in slaying
D.C. police charged a second teenager in the slaying of a worker in Southeast Washington.
Police have arrested two 16-year-old boys from Maryland in the shooting death of Manuel D. Sanchez, who was killed while working at a home in the 4600 block of Hillside Road on May 28.

It was at least the second attack on a worker in the District in the span of a week. On May 22, a house painter was shot and critically wounded in the 4000 block of Dix Street NE, before fellow workers chased the gunman off with paint cans.
Teen hit by officer shooting at dog
A 14-year-old boy was shot by a Baltimore police officer who shot at a dog attacking youths.
The incident happened at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. The teen was hit in the leg when the bullet ricocheted or went through the dog, police said. The boy was taken to a hospital. The dog died.
Police said witnesses told them the boy was part of a group of youths that were antagonizing the dog and it broke free.
