Police release photos of suspect in Fairfax sex assault

Police have released photographs of a man suspected of attacking a 16-year-old girl who was walking home from school.

Fairfax County police said a man grabbed the Woodson High School student as she entered a path in a wooded area at the end of Pickett Road at about 4 p.m. Monday. The man grabbed the girl’s neck and touched her inappropriately, according to police.

The girl was knocked to the ground and the man fled after a brief altercation. The girl screamed and ran to a nearby home for help.

Police on Wednesday released surveillance photographs that show a potential suspect. Police described the man was between the ages of 20 and 40, thin and about 170 pounds. He is believed to have been driving a white, four-door, early 2000s-model Honda Accord. The suspect was wearing shorts and a white t-shirt.
