Man shot, killed by P.G. officer A Prince George’s County police officer shot and killed a man who pulled a gun on the officer, authorities said.

Police said an officer stopped to check on a man who was lying on the ground on the 7500 block of Greenleaf Road at about 9 p.m. Saturday. The man, identified as 35-year-old Rodney Edwards, of Landover, then pointed a gun at the officer, according to police. Police said the officer feared for his life and fired his weapon, fatally shooting Edwards.

Man stabbed to death in D.C.

D.C. police are investigating the stabbing death of a 20-year-old man.

District police said officers received a report of an assault on the 900 block of Burns Street SE at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

Officers found Kevin Blackwell Jr., of Southeast D.C., suffering from a stab wound. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made in the killing. Anyone who has information is asked to call police at 202-727-9099. Tipsters can also send a text message to 50411.

Man critical after MontCo shooting

A man is in critical condition after a late-night shooting in Montgomery Village.

Officers found a 20-year-old Gaithersburg man suffering from a gunshot would in the 19100 block of Montgomery Village Avenue at about 10 p.m. Saturday, according to Montgomery County police.

Police said the man was shot at after meeting with a group of people in a condominium parking lot near Stedwick Road and Montgomery Village Avenue.

The man was taken to a hospital and remains in critical condition, police said.
