Man killed in Manassas crash A man was killed when his car was struck head-on by a dump truck in Manassas.
Prince William County police said the collision happened at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, when a dump truck driving south on Lee Highway near Sudley road crossed into the northbound lane, hitting a Ford F-350, moved back into the southbound lane, then swerved into the northbound lane again, hitting a Honda CRV head-on.
The Honda’s driver, an adult man whose name was not released, was killed, police said.
The dump truck driver and the four people in the F-350 were unharmed. Their names were not released.
It’s not yet known if speed or alcohol contributed to the crash.
Police: Loudoun teacher drunk at school
A Loudoun County teacher is charged with public drunkenness after he allegedly was found under the influence at school.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said a school resource officer received a report at about 2:45 p.m. Monday that an instructor at Michael Lunsford Middle School was believed to be under the influence of alcohol.
Authorities said 46-year-old Radhakrishnan Sivaramapillai, a physics teacher at the South Riding school, was charged with being drunk in public.
