Police confirm remains are Va. Tech student’s
Dental records provided by the parents of a missing Virginia Tech student helped Virginia State Police confirm that remains found Tuesday were hers, authorities said. Police said they are still uncertain of the circumstances that led to Harrington’s death.

A group of Fairfax County teenagers were charged with spray-painting graffiti on three schools since October, police said. Among them was one 18-year-old, Shane Keenan, and a 16-year-old boy who were each charged with two counts of felony property destruction. The remainder — a 17-year-old boy, two 16-year-old boys and a 15-year-old boy — were each charged with one count of felony destruction of property. The teens are accused of painting graffiti at Westfield High School, South Lakes High School and Fox Mill Elementary School, police said. The damage to all three schools totaled at least $10,000.
