U.S. marshals are looking for a member of a Prince George’s County street gang accused of shooting a man twice outside a Bladensburg nightclub. On the night of Nov. 25, 2011, Timothy Terrence Harris got into an argument outside the Basement nightclub, in the 5400 block of Annapolis Road, police said.

Harris pulled a gun, and the victim dropped to the ground, police said. Harris fired the weapon, striking the victim twice, police said.

Harris fled the scene, and he hasn’t been seen since.

Harris is a member of street gang that calls itself 51 Sandbox. Authorities were hesitant to release the name of the group because they didn’t want to give it any media attention, but it might help a reader identify Harris, said Inspector Matt Burke of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force.

“When punks get together with their guns, they gain a false sense of confidence and incidents like this are the result,” Burke said. “Groups like this really have a negative impact on the quality of life for everyone else in the community.”

Harris is wanted by Prince George’s County police on a charge of attempted murder. Marshals deputies are asking the public for information that will lead to his capture.

Harris is described as being 5-feet-10 and 165 pounds. He has several tattoos, including a star on his left shoulder, and writing on his chest and right shoulder.

He is from the 2900 block of Brightseat Road in Glenarden, and is known to hang out in Bladensburg and Riverdale.

Anyone with information regarding Timothy Harris should call the fugitive task force at 301-489-1717.

Since 2008, federal authorities have credited readers of The Washington Examiner with the capture of 40 fugitives, including murderers, kidnappers, child sex offenders, rapists and scam artists.

At least eight captured fugitives were wanted on a charge of or had previously been convicted of homicide.

Earlier this month, a tip from a reader led directly to the capture of a convicted murderer who allegedly violated the terms of his parole.

Last month, readers called in with information that led to the arrest of man wanted in a 1997 homicide and two gang members wanted in the slaying of a rival in Northwest Washington.
