Domestic dispute leads to shooting in Temple Hills
A domestic dispute in Temple Hills early Sunday morning escalated into a shooting once police arrived on the scene. Nobody was injured. Prince George’s County police responded to the 4600 block of Keating Street at 4 a.m. Sunday after receiving a call about a dispute between a man and a woman, according to Cpl. Evan Baxter, a police spokesman. When the man attempted to flee the scene, police confronted him, and the confrontation escalated, prompting one officer to fire his gun.
The suspect managed to escape the scene. No arrests have been made, and the police have not yet released a description of the suspect.
The cause of the dispute is under investigation.
Assault victim unharmed in Germantown
Montgomery County police responded to a call about an assault in Germantown at 8:06 a.m. Sunday. Police found the victim unharmed on the 19800 block of Crystal Rock Road. The suspect had brandished a gun, police report. The victim knew the suspect. Police are still investigating the cause of the dispute.
MontCo firefighters fight Silver Spring blaze
Montgomery County firefighters fought back flames at a townhouse on the 2300 block of Lyttonsville Road in Silver Spring on Sunday night.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found heavy fire going through the second floor. The blaze appeared to have originated in the basement and traveled to different floors of the house, according to Assistant Chief Scott Graham, spokesman for the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service.
At 8 p.m. Sunday, firefighters were in the townhouses on both sides of the fire trying to prevent the flames from spreading.
Graham said he did not know if anyone had been injured.
