A 42-year-old District resident died of multiple stab wounds in an attack Friday night on North Capital Street in D.C., police said Saturday. The man, John Wesley Griffin, was a resident of Northeast Washington, according to Metropolitan Police Department spokeswoman Gwendolyn Crump.
The stabbing took place around 9:30 p.m. Friday on the 1200 block of North Capital, which is in the northeast corner of D.C.’s up-and-coming NoMa neighborhood. Griffen was unconscious when he was found by police and transported to a nearby hospital shortly before 10 p.m.
Griffen later died of his wounds.
Information on possible suspects was not immediately available.
