Driver admits to raping elderly D.C. clinic client

A 57-year-old District man who drove senior citizens to a District clinic that provides services for elderly who have depression pleaded guilty to raping one of his clients. Tilaye Teshome Wake pleaded guilty Thursday to first-degree sexual abuse. He admitted that he raped a 75-year-old woman in her District apartment after she decided not to go to PSI Services Inc. because she wasn’t feeling well, prosecutors said. Wake was a driver for Med-Trans Inc., which had a contract to drive PSI’s clients. PSI is funded by multiple jurisdictions, including the District.



Man shot while driving car into P.G. sheriff’s deputy

An off-duty Prince George’s County sheriff’s deputy shot and wounded a man who drove his car into another deputy, officials said. Two deputies were providing security at a Temple Hills nightclub when a fight broke out around 1 a.m. Thursday. As the deputies tried to stop the brawl, one of the men involved jumped into a car and drove into a deputy. The other deputy opened fire and hit the driver. Both the driver and the deputy struck by the car were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

D.C. man indicted on fleeing, assault charges

A 28-year-old District man accused of leading authorities on an 11-hour chase last month after he escaped from custody has been indicted on fleeing and assault charges. Terrence O. Moore Jr., was awaiting sentencing for a federal drug conspiracy when he slipped away from authorities on March 11 while being taken to a hospital.

D.C. man convicted of killing lizard

A 43-year-old District man has been ordered to perform 40 hours of community service for killing his son’s pet lizard. In October, Nelson Privado’s son came home late from school. The man responded by taking the boy’s bearded dragon, Beardie, across the street, killing the lizard.
