A District Heights Police sergeant has been indicted on charges of attempted murder in the shooting of an arrested man after a traffic stop.
Johnnie Riley, an eight-year veteran, turned himself in Thursday afternoon on charges of attempted murder, first- and second-degree assault, use of a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence, and two counts of misconduct in office.
